Wrong People 03:50
I saw Phyllis just the other day She was half-drunk as usual trying to walk down that street She was carrying a pack of cigarettes upside down And you know if you ever wanted to know where Phyllis was You could just follow that trail of cigarettes down the sidewalk Between her mumbling and fumbling and grumbling She told us Bob had died last week in his sleep But something told us that just wasn’t true Because we had just seen Bob waiting in line trying to sell some blood Bob always sells blood on Thursdays Can’t you see there’s something wrong with all the people here? Brain dead not knowing who they are Can’t you tell there’s something wrong with all the people here? Brain dead not knowing who they are We watched as they took Norman away He overdosed again on a mixture of heroin and children’s aspirin And as the ambulance slowly crawled up that road We saw it run right into some poor legless cat in a wheelchair And this cop while he saw the whole affair He actually gave the man who couldn’t walk a ticket for jaywalking Hmmm? Imagine that The cop got a call, got in his car and he sped away He just left that guy sitting in the street Hmmmm? Imagine that. Can’t you see there’s something wrong with all the people here? Brain dead not knowing who they are Can’t you see there’s something wrong with all the people here? Brain dead not knowing who they are We caught Sally as she was heading home She’s trying to support 5 kids playing bingo in the basement of the church And later that day we ran into Joe He was selling dime bags of oregano to a couple of school kids We watch the sky turn to a vivid shade of red And as the sun starts its descent behind the buildings And just before the night owls start their migration to the clubs We all enjoy a moment of peace.

This conversation is going nowhere I hear you speaking but it means nothing Brazilian/German or Portuguese/French Your lips keep moving by it’s making no sense and This conversation is going nowhere But what’s that you said I can’t make out your words That are coming from you Whats that you said I can’t make out those words That are coming from you You just keep talking you keep on yakking But no one’s listening to your lips a-flapping So maybe you’re mental or playing some joke But all your noises are giving me a stroke and You just keep talking you keep you keep a yakking What’s that you said I can’t make out those words That are coming from you But whats that you said I can’t make out those words That are coming from you Where’s Joe Jackson? What’s that you said? I can’t make out those words What’s that you said? I can’t make out those words What’s that you said? I can’t make out those words. NO! What’s that you said? I can’t make out those words This conversation is going nowhere I hear you speak but it means nothing Brazilian/German or Portuguese/French Your lips keep moving by it’s making no sense and This conversation has gone nowhere What’s that you said I can’t make out those words That are coming from you But whats that you said I can’t make out those words That are coming from you What’s that you said I can’t make out those words That are coming from you But whats that you said I can’t make out those words That are coming from you

Hey Hey Hey 03:40
I’m feeling like coming down but I’m feeling like my feet won’t touch the ground And I’m feeling like I almost cried And I’m feeling like I almost died When you said “hey hey hey” And I’ll say: You don’t know When I hear your voice I’ll hit the floor and I’ll lay there just thinking all I want is more You don’t know When I hear your voice I’ll hit the floor and I’ll lay there just thinking all I want is more and more, and more. Now I’m feeling like I can not think But I’m think I better go get a drink Because you said “hey” And I’m feeling like coming down but I’m feeling like my feet won’t touch the ground And I’ll say: You don’t know When I hear your voice I’ll hit the floor and I’ll lay there just thinking all I want is more You don’t know When I hear your voice I’ll hit the floor and I’ll lay there just thinking all I want is more and more, and more.

Rejection 04:57
She stopped herself from calling She’s dialling but then hanging up before it rings When she finally got the nerve to speak to him All she could say “I need to see you” She phoned a taxi to meet her She rode the 30 minutes to his home He opened the door, met her on the stair She wrapped her arms around him She said: I never said ‘I didn’t miss you’ I guess it doesn’t matter anyway I never said ‘I never loved you’ But I guess it doesn’t matter anyway He pushed her back and took a step away He gathered his nerve and walked back inside He closed the door, leaned against it He covered his ears but he could hear her outside She said: I never said ‘I never missed you’ I guess it doesn’t matter anyway I never said ‘I never loved you’ But I guess it doesn’t matter anyway I never said ‘I never loved you’ But I guess it doesn’t matter anyway I never said ‘I never loved you’ But I guess it doesn’t matter anyway

Found myself on certain road again This place reminds me of you and I’ll play those memories back Just like the old song It goes like this Back then we thought it would last forever But who was I to say? I know, I know the questions never Hey, that’s a long time away When we lost it We knew it We never found it a long long time ago We lost it We knew it We never found it a long long time ago So, the story is true I was thinking of you and The story is true I was thinking of you and going… Found myself drifting off again I was thinking of you when All the thoughts come rushing back Then I heard the old song It goes like this Those days we couldn’t find the answer We broke each others hearts And the years just fade away That’s the way that it ended When we lost it We knew it We never found it a long long time ago We lost it We knew it We never found it a long long long time ago So, the story is true I was thinking of you and The story is true I was thinking of you and going…
